Pink Oasis

The final render of Pink Oasis, a project I created for my Embodied Portrait assignment.

A full breakdown, I used motive to record the motion. I tested the motion data on a default model before using the metahuman mesh.

I created a moodboard that captured the atmosphere I wanted to replicate. I was inspired by parody music videos and dancing.

Midjourney generated image using my initial moodboard, this was the image I embodied with the project.

I imported a metahuman body mesh and attached a head model that reminded me of an action figure of which I sourced online. I merged the two meshes and used a bone deform node to animate them together.

To fix up some of bigger animation noise such as feet lifting off the ground I used soft transform nodes on the motion trails and then used a smooth motion node to remove most of the extra jitter.

I created a procedural tree asset for my scene using Houdini.

This project was part of a lighting course I took during university the assignment was to embody a generated image using Houdini, The assignment needed to involve the use of motion capture animation and traditional lighting techniques.
